Ok so if you live in NYC then you are used to moving around A whole lot. And your used to how messed up of a process it can be, not to mention mad annoying. And most of the time its last minute! Given that many college students and graduates are getting ready to move home, in addition to a new season coming upon us I wanted to inform you about a moving company I recently came across the next time you don’t know who to call and are feeling a little green…I mean blue! Call up “MOVERS NOT SHAKERS.”...
Whether it’s quilted, cottony-soft or recycled, toilet paper still has a long way to go before it eschews the dubious honour of being an ubiquitous symbol of a wasteful society. So it’s always a good idea to: a) not use too much; b) to get treeless TP; or c) to just get a bidet (psst… it’s actually cleaner). It’s also worth repeating that if everyone used toilet paper like we did, there would be no forests left. But this humble roll can change. Well-known for his innovative use of paper as a structural element, architect Shigeru Ban also turned his attention to re-conceptualizing the roll itself...
San Francisco is the first U.S. city set to ban plastic bags and Los Angeles City Council followed suit, approving a ban, effective July 2010. Last week, they also tacked on a 25-cent fee on paper or plastic bags—including biodegradable versions—after next year’s ban. Seven cents will go to stores and 18 cents will fund California’s anti-pollution and recycling programs. LA uses two billion plastic bags each year and only 5% get recycled. San Francisco uses half that amount. Other countries are banning plastic bags, so imagine if other U.S. cities instituted the same policy. But no. On May 14, Philadelphia’s City Council rejected...

When you do get to choose between paper and plastic, don’t let green guilt necessarily pull you toward paper. Consider that both materials have drawbacks for the environment. For the battle over which is greener, neither paper nor plastic have it in the bag. ENVIRONMENTAL DISADVANTAGES OF PAPER: Causes pollution: Paper production emits air pollution, specifically 70 percent more pollution than the production of plastic bags. According to certain studies, manufacturing paper emits 80 percent more greenhouse gases. The paper bag making process also results in 50 times more water pollutants than making plastic bags. Consumes energy: Even though petroleum...
What JEEZY really meant to rap about with the release of his most recent album “THE RECESSION” is that his (our) president is GREEN. As a candidate, BARACK OBAMA promoted hybrid cars. Auto enthusiasts panned the design of the new presidential limo, which was painted all black as seen in its first sighting at the inauguration in January… though in reality its true colors are GREEN. PRESS PLAY and Read On… Shortly after taking the oath of office, Obama previewed the Mother of All Hybrids –part car, part truck and, from the looks of it, part tank… In keeping with recent tradition, the Secret...
Browsing the VANS site this morning I came across their GO GREEN LINE. The Go Green line stays true to the traditional feel of the shoe brand, embracing the slip on and the simplistic tie ups, while not changing the aesthetic or comfort that your used to. The difference in this case is that the line consists of a collection of about 12 shoes, all of which use totally recycled post-consumer materials, and eco friendly manufacturing methods. A perfect light shoe just in time for summer. Take a look…(And press play for some motivational jams HERE) *MESA SHOE For example, take...
