Grammy-nominated Janelle Monáe is about to embark on an environmentally-themed campus tour, thanks to non-profit Reverb.
Reverb has invited Ms. Monáe to join its latest Campus Conscious Tour (CCT). In addition to educating and mobilizing students, the tour includes many greening elements and is run to have a minimal environmental footprint. Artists of past CCTs have included, among others, Passion Pit, Ben Harper, andGuster. (Guster axeman Adam Gardner is the Co-Director of Reverb).
I love the idea of bringing more of an overall experience onto college campuses, says Janelle Monáe. CCT has the right formula by combining music and activism and delivering it in a fun way to students.
From October 1-22, the “Tightrrope” singer will appear on campuses with a message focused on on sustainable food and water for all.
The Eco-Village at each concert will showcase student environmental organizations and national non-profit groups including Oxfam America’s GROW campaign and the Non-GMO Project.
Reverb has a list of concert dates and volunteer opportunities for this tour that hits the United States Midwest and East Coast.
