Oprah Narrates Discovery’s New ‘LIFE’ Nature Series

life

Looking to follow-up on the success of Planet Earth, Discovery Channel is prepping the launch of LIFE — an 11-part series more than four years in the making and focusing on the planet’s living things and their spectacular, bizarre and fascinating behaviors. All of this will all be presented in delicious high-definition — and with a few new filming tricks too.

Lending her voice to the narration of the series will be Oprah Winfrey. According to the release, she’ll introduce such “firsts” as a male humpback whale mating battle (called the “heat run”) from beginning to end; Komodo dragons bringing down an animal 10 times their size in a real-life drama that lasted more than two weeks; and a pebble toad rolling down a mountain, bouncing like a rubber ball, to escape a tarantula; among others.
