Early yesterday morning, millions of New Yorkers received a very special edition of the New York Post. 2000 volunteers got together to pass out the “fake” paper that detailed the lethal effects of global warming within the next few decades.

The paper was created by The Yes Men and a coalition of activists as a wake-up call to action on climate change. You might remember The Yes Men from earlier this summer when we reported how they were planning to fix the world.

Although the 32-page New York Post isn’t, everything in it is 100% true, with all facts carefully checked by a team of editors and climate change experts.

Perhaps the most frightening thing is that some of the information came from an actual city report conducted by a blue-ribbon panel of scientists commissioned by the mayor’s office to determine the potential effects of climate change on the city.
