YVES SAINT LAURENT Recycles Old Looks Into New

31

Hot on the heels of its limited-edition organic cotton collection for Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s Home, one of luxury fashion’s old guard is dipping its toes even further—if ever so gingerly—into the sustainable style pool.

Today, Yves Saint Laurent will be unveiling “New Vintage,” an eco-friendly capsule collection comprising remnant fabric from past collections that has been adapted to the French fashion house’s classic silhouettes.

To be sold exclusively at Barneys New York—one of eco-fashion’s staunchest supporters, thanks to the influence of fashion director Julie Gilhart—”New Vintage” will present the perfect wardrobe by way of YSL, with dip-dyed bustier dresses, embroidered trench coats, a litany of separates in plasticized cotton, along with a Downtown bag and sandal—all strictly limited edition, numbered, and unique.
